Agroecology Barn Dance
Finding yourself dreaming of stew and hot cider? Great music and dancing? You will find all this, and more, at the 3rd annual UW-Madison Agroecology Barn Dance at the Cates Family Farm! All are invited to take part in an evening of food, fun, fall colors and contra dancing with Thirsty Roots and caller Catherine Baer.
We’ll be serving up bowls of hearty stew, tasty bread, and apple cider—all included in the price of admission! Beer and tasty home-baked treats will be available by donation, and in true Wisconsin fashion we’ll hold a meat raffle throughout the evening, featuring pastured pork and beef generously donated by Nadia Alber and Chad Backes at Ducks in a Row Family Farm and Laura and Bill Paine at Paine Family Farm.
All proceeds from the dance support the students of the UW-Agroecology program, so come out for a night of dancing and a boot-stompin’ good time!
Doors open at 6PM, so come early to enjoy bowls of stew by the campfire and soak up the sunset on the farm. The Cates Family Farm is at 5992 County Hwy T, Spring Green, WI.
FREE on-farm camping is available for those who want to make a night of it (s’mores are encouraged).
